New Year, New Resolutions - The Pagan Experience WK 1

First, many thanks to the lovely Robin Fennelly at The Magickal Pen for beginning a weekly blog event called The Pagan Experience.  As mentioned previously I have been informed by the PTB (Powers That Be) that I need to deepen my understanding of my Faith which I intend to do by making myself write down parts of it.  To that end, here goes.

Resolutions - What are your intentions for this new year? How will you find the resolve to bring them into your manifest life?

Let's ease into things with a list:
  1. 13 Full Moon Spells
  2. 13 God Spells
  3. All 52 Pagan Experience Posts
  4. Maintain seasonally or magically appropriate Altar Space
  5. Open and Honest communication
And now for a bit of 'how':
  1. Posts are already scheduled, just have to be re-scheduled (due to the Pagan Experience being Monday's instead of Fridays) and written
  2. Already have a list of pantheons and about half of the deities picked with corresponding intentions
  3. 1 done, 51 to go :)
  4. Get the decor of the house involved and also my 8yr old
  5. Working on this... always working on this

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all!

I have Pagan Blog Project posts already scheduled and Wordless Wednesdays too!  I even have a couple My-Stuff Mondays in the works including a 13 Gods Spell series and 13 Full Moon Spells.

I miss writing and have been informed by the Power's That Be (PTB for short) that writing is an important part of raising my magical workings and understandings to the next level... so here goes.

2015, bring it on.

Dusting off the Online Witchy-ness

Two years is a long time.  Apparently the world wanted to shake me up, and it worked for a bit.  I've found my footing again and I'm looking forward to being back here, writing and crafting and being witchy again.

I've woken up my ebay auctions and my Fiverr gigs.  This post is the first stirrings for a blog re-boot.  Next I'll resurrect my facebook and storenvy and prepare to be back in business.

In other, more personal news, the 2014 Maryland RennFest went very well.  I have a new man in my life, and I think I'll keep this one.  My meetup group is going super well and my daughter is turning into an amazing young lady.

Coming soon you can expect Tarot Tuesdays to re-appear.  I expect to participate in the Pagan Blog Project in 2015 so I might practice for the rest of the year on Friday's.  I do like My-Stuff Mondays so they may re-appear.  As things pick up I will do my best to re-start giveaways and reviews and event announcements and stuff.

Looking forward again... it feels nice.

ARRGHH! The MD Renn Fest is kickin my arse!

Map of the Maryland Renaissance Festival
You can find me on the weekends either at the White Hart tavern or across from the Joust.  You'll know me because I'll be the one yelling "Soap and Candles!" or telling you "The glass is much more beautiful from the inside!"

Regardless of my crazy schedule this harvest season there will be Tarot Wednesday tomorrow, a giveaway on Friday and a post about an AWESOME conference coming up on Sunday.  This I swear!

In the mean time, take a look at some of the DELICIOUS food you're missing in the White Stag Grove.

Owie! I'm Back! and A Winner!

Firstly, I'm sorry I've been MIA.  I had a great Mother's Day and Birthday weekend at the Greenbelt GreenMan Festival and the Maryland Faerie Festival and a delicious Birthday on Monday.  After all of that my back seized up and I have been on muscle relaxers when not at work... and no one needs to read me on those!

So I had an MRI today and a Neurosurgery appointment for next week to check out wtf is up, but it's much less painful so I'm back.  I plan on getting caught up on all my posts by next week, so keep an eye out.

In the meantime, CONGRATULATIONS to Stacy!  She has won the BOS pages from Faeriegill's Needfull Things and Wishes.
And the winner is...

Tarot Wednesday: On a month Hiatus

So apparently I don't have the time that I would like to devote to doing a weekly Tarot blog.  I have had the Justice card draft for ever and just haven't had time to fix it up and present.  I plan on taking the month to really focus on where I need to distribute my time and energy.  Hopefully I will bring back Tarot Wednesday in April.

Thanks bunches for being followers and stay tuned for tomorrow's giveaway and then Pagan Blog Project post!

Sunday Intentional: New Years?

New Years is an interesting thing for me to look at deeply as it's not really part of the turning of my internal calendar.  A few years ago at Imbolc I pushed myself to really follow the wheel of the year and the natural patterns of the world.  Because of this goal I already celebrated the end of my year and the beginning of the next at Samhain and the Solstice and I plan to begin the new years goals on Imbolc.

That being said, I have yet to set goals for the next solar circuit and I should have done that at the Solstice and be in planning stages now.  I guess I'm a week or so behind so... as cliche as this post is, here are my goals for the next year:

I will have two products up in my etsy store for ALL sabbats. Yule went well and Imbolc is already planned but needs to be posted.  My etsy store is helping me be a better witch and I will continue to improve and grow my product lines.

I will participate in the 2012 Pagan Reading Challenge and the 2012 Witchy Books Reading Challenge by reading non-fiction witchy and pagan books that have been sitting on my shelves gathering dust.

Blog schedule goals:
  • First Featured Friday of each month is a giveaway
  • Second Third Featured Friday of each month is a pagan organization
  • Keep up with Sunday Intentionals

An Introduction and Schedule of Posts

Good morning everyone, which at this moment is no one. The first post is going to be the seemingly-required introduction (which will also be on my AboutMe page).

I am known as Kat in my local magical community. I have been reading tarot cards for over ten years. It began as a game of oneupmanship in a college dorm and quickly blossomed into an intuitive gift to share with others. I have been reading professionally at private parties and special events since 2001. In 2009 I began to offer readings through email as well as individual appointments. Broadening and enhancing my abilities is a never ending goal for me and I continue to attend classes and workshops to gain experience and skills.

Within my magical practice I self identify as a solitary eclectic neo-pagan witch and my personal spiritual practice is a mixture of Goddess Tradition spirituality and elemental based magic. As with my continuing Tarot education, I am an active member of my local magical communities and consistently attend circle, workshops, classes, events and conferences to broaden my magical knowledge.

My plan is to allow this blog to serve as a marketing tool for myself and other metaphysical sellers, but also as a tool to enhance my self-discipline and self exploration practices.

Starting next Sunday night I will be posting from a prompt designed to make me really explore and define my magical faith and practice. Wednesday will be 'Tarot Card Day' and I will post and talk about one of the cards and what it means to me personally as well as in my readings. Friday I will share my favorites and finds on etsy or other marketplaces.

I would like this blog to become a bit of an open forum and will invite my readers to share their thoughts and experiences without fear of ridicule or flaming. All faiths and paths are welcome as long as respect can be maintained.

I look forward to sharing with others as my readership grows.
