13 Goddess WK06: Egyptian Goddess Bastet

Today I offer you a pet blessing spell calling on the Egyptian Goddess Bastet.  This lion or cat headed goddess is known as a fierce protector of kittens and children and may help keep your little furry ones safe.

Pet Blessing Candle Spell
This spell is best performed during the waxing Moon towards the last quarter or during the Full Moon. Spells to bring energy in are done at this time because the energy of the moon helps move things into your life.
Use a pin to carve your pet’s name into a brown candle.  You can add other symbols or words to increase the directedness and power of the spell.  Hold the candle between the palms of your hands and direct all of your energy into the candle, focusing on health and protection for your animal companion.  Light the candle and say (either aloud or in your mind):
Lady Bast, Perfumed Protector of cats and those who care for them,
guard (name of pet) against harm and illness.
Watch over (name of pet) and help me to protect him/her.
Bless (name of pet) with a joyful life, free of hardship, stress, and strife.
Lady Bast, let it be so.
If possible, focus and meditate on your desires until the candle is almost burned out.  Combine the ashes and left over wax together and bury it in the earth as close to your home as possible.

  4. Oh, I have lots of pets. :) This might come in handy. :) I have a question. How long does your candle burn? It sounds like a long time to meditate.

    1. The 4 inch chime candles typically burn for about two hours. You could also use a tea-light which may burn faster. Honestly, if you've taken the time to really sit and meditate with your intention you can just let the candle burn out (as long as it's in a safe location). Thanks so much for stopping by!
