Two years is a long time. Apparently the world wanted to shake me up, and it worked for a bit. I've found my footing again and I'm looking forward to being back here, writing and crafting and being witchy again.
I've woken up my ebay auctions and my Fiverr gigs. This post is the first stirrings for a blog re-boot. Next I'll resurrect my facebook and storenvy and prepare to be back in business.
In other, more personal news, the 2014 Maryland RennFest went very well. I have a new man in my life, and I think I'll keep this one. My meetup group is going super well and my daughter is turning into an amazing young lady.
Coming soon you can expect Tarot Tuesdays to re-appear. I expect to participate in the Pagan Blog Project in 2015 so I might practice for the rest of the year on Friday's. I do like My-Stuff Mondays so they may re-appear. As things pick up I will do my best to re-start giveaways and reviews and event announcements and stuff.
Looking forward again... it feels nice.

Franchesca of SmallBirdStudios did an amazing job taking one of my most loves pictures of me and the munchkin and transferring it on to distressed canvas. Now I will have this moment forever and I think $22 is so worth it.

Sunday Intentional: A-Z of Me
Welcome to the Lamest Sunday Intentional ever!
C. Chore that you hate: Cooking. There is absolutely NOTHING better than walking into a complete homemade meal every night. I hate cooking.
F. Favorite color: Atlantic gray.
G. Gold or Silver: I'm allergic to gold of almost any kind so I'm a .925 Sterling kinda gal. (Though I would love to be a platinum kinda gal.)
J. Job title: Quality Assurance Technician, Tarot Reader, Pagan Community Organizer
K. Kids: Yup, a 5yr old munchkin who is a fantastic cross between a Valkyrie and a Princess
L. Live: Baltimore, MD
O. Overnight hospital stays: Can't think of one other than the C-Section.
P. Pet peeves: Interrupting me in the middle of a sentence; this is my dad's fault. Oh, and the word irregardless.
Q. Quote from a movie: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
V. Vegetable you hate: Peas... they just taste green... ick!
W. What makes you run late: The aforementioned 5yr old
X. X-Rays you’ve had: Teeth, ankle, back, and an CAT scan and MRI for good measure

Pagan Blog Project WK02 - A is for Altar
A Few Notes: I guess I will be posting twice on Fridays, but that's OK because those of you interested in the Pagan Blog Project posts will also get to benefit from being exposed to:
I miss my altar.
When I was in college I had less space but I guess I also had less stuff taking it up. I had two milk crates stacked up with books in the bottom one, altar stuff storage in the middle and an ever-changing altar on the top. It seems like my magic was ever-present and much more organic as it was changed, reinforced and supported all the time because my altar was in the center of my collegiate crossroads crucible.
Then I graduated, got a job, got married, moved out of my 'rents, eventually had a little one... and somewhere along the way I lost that physical manifestation of my magic and my faith. I tried to re-capture it a couple times.
And most of all it's in the center of my little apartment world, a place I can re-assert my magic and faith everyday without penciling time into my (ridiculous) schedule. I am so excited.

- I have an heirloom bookshelf that holds all my stuff (cause I'm totally a stuff witch), but the top is for lamps and boxes and bottles... not an altar space
And most of all it's in the center of my little apartment world, a place I can re-assert my magic and faith everyday without penciling time into my (ridiculous) schedule. I am so excited.

Yuletide Blessings 2011 Blog Party
Welcome Blog Party People! Many blessings to you and yours through this season and many thanks to Astraea for hosting.
My favorite set of Family holiday Traditions starts about a week before Christmas and a day full of cookie baking is involved. When I was younger my two sisters and I helped my dad make tray after tray of different cookies so we could give away cookie plates to people in our neighborhood, at work and at school. Now I'm older and out of the house so my 5 year-old Valkyrie gets to make cookies with her awesome AuntRose and Grandpa and I get an afternoon off :)
The one Christmas Eve arrives the tradition I miss most is dinner with my Great Aunt. She passed Samhain a few years ago and I still miss her. She was an amazing lady and I hope to be 1/3 as amazing by the time I get to year 70.
Next comes Midnight Mass. This may seem a bit weird until you think about how much ritual is in a Catholic Mass and think about how it's a celebration of the return of the Son, not all that different than the Sun. The church is always SO packed, Dad is typically a lector and Mom's busy singing in the choir so my sisters and I get to sit together, just us three, and then two of us sneak into the soprano section to sing the Hallelujah Chorus to end the night. It's moving and powerful and comforting in the winter night.
Christmas itself is rife with more tradition. My sisters come down stairs and wake me up, now they wake my Valkyrie up too. We hang out till 7am, make coffee and send the cute one up to wake up Mom and Dad (now Grandma and Grandpa). Stockings can be opened while coffee is made with Irish cream and then presents are opened in age order, youngest to oldest. Breakfast is french Texas toast wrapped in bacon and dinner is roast beef. The day is ended with Irish Coffee, friends and family and much warmth.

The kitties seemed to be hated. We pulled untold numbers out, vetted, spayed or neutered them and constantly ran ads for new, forever homes.
100% of proceeds from sales through Thecatslaves shop, less materials are used to help support the rescue. C.L.A.W.S. depends on donations, the generosity of Mars/Nutro and monies we provide for an always never ending need for funds. Our kitties are displaced ferals, special needs, mal contents with issues and behavior problems. We don't need anything from the kitties but to enjoy their little lives and do their kitty things in a safe environment as long as they live.
